During the summers of 1960 and 1961 Dad ventured to the great white north of Greenland. These summers were spent working for the National Weather Service.

As the north had been already been conquered Dave traveled south to Antarctica. During the austral summers of 2000 and 2001 Dave worked worked for the National Science Foundation.
